Retirement Village Service & Maintenance Charges

The actual rates that you will be expected to pay will depend on a case by case basis. Costs for services and maintenance will go towards such things as maintenance of properties as well as payment for staff members as well. Moreover, it is possible that some people will require extra services than others. For instance, some will be happy to cook meals for themselves, whilst others might need assistance in this and would have difficulty doing this by themselves. You may pay a flat charge therefore as well as any ancillary charges in addition for specialist services.

In terms of the services that one might expect to be covered, for example Audley Retirement (see: http://www.audleyretirement.co.uk/audley-fees.aspx#monthly-management-fee) lists services that would be covered which are: building insurance, external property maintencance, garden as well as ground maintenance, cleaning for roads and footpaths, lift servicing, CCTV, emergency call services, intruder and also smoke alarm maintenance. In addition, they advise that it covers night porters/security services, homecarers and a call line, removal of refuse at night, window cleaners, cheaper rates for food and drinks, guest suite maintenance, free calls between village accommodation and also a general manager with a head of care and also a supporting team.
